GREAT TRAIL MIX

Great Afternoon Trail Mix Snack:

We are always wondering and questioning ourselves on finding someting healthy and nutritious to eat without a lot of sugar and calories. I found a great snack that has been good for me that I have between lunch and dinner and sometimes I have it for a snack before 7:00 pm. for a night craving which is very good for my fiber diet and stomach problems and it should be good for kids and diabetics or for anyone that is looking for something healthy and nutritious.

Below is trail mix recipe that I use regularly and it works well on my fiber and is a healthy afternoon or nighttime snack craving. You can always substitute some ingredients or add others in depending on what your particular diet calls or what is better for you healthwise.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups walnuts
  • 3 cups popcorn
  • 3 cups of cheezits
  • 3 cups of fiber cereal
  • 1 cup lowfat balsamic dressing
  • 1/3 cup canola oil
  • 1/4 cup raisins
  • 1/4 cup almond M and M candies or any flavor that you want.

Instructions

Step 1. I preheat the oven to 250 degrees.

Step 2. I put in a large bowl the walnuts, popcorn, cheezits, and pretzels and mix them well.

Step 3. I mix together salad dressing mix and olive oil and pour this mixture over the dry ingredients and toss well.

Step 4. I then transfer the mixture into an ungreased pan and bake it for about 30 minutes.

Step 5. Then I take it out of the oven and let it cool for 5 minutes and then stir in the raisins and almond m and m candies.

Then I sit down and enjoy this nutritious and healthy trail mix snack and only eat enough for my fiber intake and craving at the same time.
